Don Maue, Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra

Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra
Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra's December 2006 concert

Tracks and comments from Don Maue:

Down in yon forest
This is a quartet and I have the mandolin one, melody part. Notice the incredible dynamic range of the NeoClassical - Forte to Pianissimo. Even at its lowest level, it still projects to the back of the room.

The Huron Carol
This is a full orchestra song. Notice how the NeoClassical projects in a section of seven mandolin ones. It breathes so lightly but still fills the room with its voice. It almost sounds like a concerto with the NeoClassical playing the solo part - I really have to watch that!

Jingle Bells
Same story as above - You can hear all of my mistakes! I started to "show off" a bit and do some chord melody on the chorus - what a treat to let that sing out.
